Upper Chiva Loop, 4/4/04
The weather looked really bad, but we decided to go anyway. The group consisted of Jim DiDomenico, Benji Kozuch (visiting from New Orleans), Tom Abens, and John Pollock. The original intention was to do the Bear Mesa Ride/Walk/Crawl, but in light of the weather we just decided to head for Chiva Falls and then play it by ear. Tom quickly dropped out. He was afraid of getting wet. The rest of us pressed on. Then Jim realized he had left his car keys in Pollock's truck, and we were planning on using his car to get from the end of the ride back to the beginning where we left the other vehicle. So that scotched the idea of doing the entire Bear Mesa ride. Instead we did the Chiva Upper Loop. The weather threatened, and became wet occasionally, but we enjoyed in thoroughly.
