Elephant Head Butte 2/3/02
on the east side of the Santa Ritas,
south of Green Valley
This begins with a rocky and sandy jeep road that gets increasingly gnarly as we go in. Then we pick up some excellent singletrack. The singletrack is increasingly rocky as we proceed, becoming extremely rocky and technically difficult towards the end. The ride is an out and back. It 13.5 miles long, with 1000 feet of climbing, and it normally takes us about 3 hours.
