Did we find the CP Singletrack? 1/13/03

Joe Cruz and John Pollock set out to ride the 50 year trail. Venturing off it up the Deer Camp Trail, they noted a very well defined cow track and decided to follow it. It led them high up onto the side of the Catalinas, and then died. On the way back, instead of riding it all the way back down, they noted another trail diverging from it and decided to follow that. Of course, it also died, leaving them in the middle of nowhere. They decided to bushwack back to the Deer Camp trail, which "could not be far away". The way back was bloody, as the Cat's Claw Acacia's embraced them warmly. In retrospect, they think they probably found the CP Singletrack, but did not know that was what it was.
